My interview with Henry Howard, longtime chef, ex-convict, and San Francisco native looking to give back to the community through the Red Rose Culinary Academy.
“The No.1 place ex-convicts can find work is in the hospitality industry,” Howard said. “We’re looking to give these people skills that will last a lifetime.”
Beginning in June, Howard is spearheading a 16-week crash course, free of charge, which will provide the basic kitchen skills to ex-convicts looking to get back into the work force.
